SPORTSMANSHIP

In a special demonstration of sportsmanship, which is typical to the school, the boy’s basketball team of Elan went to the Augusta Civic Center to cheer on their rivals, AR Gould.   See the Lewiston Sun Journal article at  Sun Journal

Gould had eliminatedthe talented Buccaneers from the post-season play in the final game of the season.  The trip was made at the request of the Elan players.  "We had a fierce battle with them, but we knew what they were up against and we thought that they might need some support," said Jack.

“We felt that we were one of the top 2 teams in Maine”, said Elan coach Peter E. Rowe.  "And we expected to be going to Augusta to play in the tournament. However, we know what its like to play most of our games on the road and to be treated like an outsider.  So we wanted to be there to cheer for AR Gould and support their players.”
