Triumph! Boy’s Win Another Prep Title: Sweep MAISADS
Elan placed 7 of its runners in the top 11 places to defeat its rival Gould Academy in the Boy’s Varsity the MAISAD Prep School Championship on Wednesday November 3rd, 2010. Elan was led by Andrew who finished second overall with a time of 16:39 at the 3 mile course held at the University of Maine at Augusta. Sumner led the race at the mile mark with a time of 5:15. The fast pace seemed to help the Buccaneers as the field was challenged to keep up.
The Buccaneers dominated from start to finish. Sumner finished 4th, followed by Zach who finished 5th, Ben 7th, Tyler 8th, Dan 10th and Max finished 11th.
Andrew (Gould) finished 1st overall. Nolan (Gould) was 3rd. Hebron freshman Watanabe finished 6th.
The Buccaneers have won 4 of the last 6 MAISAD championships in boy’s cross country. SeaCoast Christian had snapped Elan’s 3 year reign as champion in 2008. Gould Academy won the championship last year.
Elan also won the J.V. race. Gould Academy defeated Seacoast Christian by 5 points for the girls' title.
